At Tylers Solicitors, we’ve been supporting claimants across the UK in making solid, successful road traffic accident claims for over 15 years. Our personal injury solicitors are not only confident in claiming against individuals, but also local councils.
One example of this is the following 2018 motorcycle accident case, where we helped a motorcyclist seek justice and compensation following a preventable accident and serious injury caused by a pothole.
What happened?
In 2018, we represented a male claimant who suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident caused by a pothole. While riding along the road, his motorcycle hit a large pothole, which caused him to lose control of his bike. Subsequently, the claimant was thrown from his vehicle.
Due to this, he suffered multiple injuries that impacted his ability to enjoy daily activities and to work, including:
- A fractured rib
- A back injury
- Nerve damage in one hand
The claims process
We assisted the victim in acquiring evidence and filing a personal injury claim against the local council responsible for maintaining the road, as we believed that the council had failed in its duty to ensure the road was safe and properly maintained.
The local council denied liability, which led to the case being taken to trial.
The outcome
The court ruled in favour of our client, awarding him £22,000 in compensation for his pain and suffering. With Tylers Solicitors, you can rest assured that we will always hold local councils accountable if you have been in an accident caused by their negligence.
If you have been in an accident caused by your local council or a similar motorcycle accident, don’t hesitate to contact our team for expert legal advice and road traffic accident claims support.
